Indonesia expects double trade with Germany by 2015
06/12/2011 73Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa said Friday that the government forecasts trade volume between Indonesia and Germany will double to reach 12 billion U.S. dollar by 2015.
Both countries have great potential to boost bilateral trade cooperation given the fact that Germany and other European countries had seen a high economic growth in Asia region recently, the minister said.
Germany's economy was still dynamic amid a widespread debt crisis over other European nations, said Hatta.
Indonesia would import high-technology products from Germany and exports plantation crops commodities."We have sent rubber, tobacco, coffee, tea and others to Germany," he said at the State Palace.
Indonesia's export to Europe has not been impacted by the weakening of the global economy due to the debt crisis, according to Hatta.
The Indonesian Statistic Bureau announced on Thursday that Indonesia's export to Europe rose by 86.2 million U.S. dollar to 1.48 billion U.S. dollar in Oct. from that of at Sept.
