HA NOI — The Ministry of Finance will reduce import taxes on some electric, information and technology products to 5 per cent from January, according to its commitment under the Free Trade Agreement.

The products, which are imported from ASEAN countries and have ASEAN content of more than 40 per cent with Certificate of Origin, will be eligible to enjoy ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) preferential taxes.

White list of reliable email addresses to be released

HA NOI — Viet Nam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT) will compile and apply a white list of reliable emails in Viet Nam next year.

The list, together with a department specialising in anti-spam measures, will be used to manage anti-spam emails.

The VNCERT will also build a technical supervisory system for the country's network security. A website to update attacked websites will also be built.

The VNCERT this year resolved 755 computer breakdowns, three times higher than last year. Of the total, 385 were fake websites, 340 attacks to change interface and 13 cases of spam.

CMC Corporation among top ten producers: study

HA NOI — CMC Corporation was voted among the top ten most productive companies in Viet Nam in the software industry this year by Profiles International Viet Nam.

The study focused on labour productivity, defined as revenue produced per full-time employee or full-time employee. It was based on information from 676 companies in 22 industries listed on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange and the HCM City Stock Exchange.

CMC Corporation was honoured for its integrated systems, software services, telecommunications, internet - and ICT production and distribution.

This is the second consecutive year the corporation has been listed.
