Second Meeting of CPTPP Commission

The second meeting of the CPTPP Commission was held in Aukland, New Zealand from 7-9 October, 2019. The Commission issued a joint statement and made 02 formal decisions, (i) Decision on CPTPP Commission’s Rules of Procedure (ii) Decision to establish a Roster of Panel Chairs.

Third CPTPP Commission Meeting

The third CPTPP Commission meeting was held virtually and hosted by Mexico on 5 August 2020. The CPTPP Commission issued a joint statement, emphasizing the importance of full implementation of the Agreement and cooperation on COVID-19 economic recovery. The Commission instructed Senior Officials to work towards establishment of a committee on digital trade, and to consider a consolidated plan to advance work on CPTPP-focused initiatives to respond to COVID-19.

Fourth CPTPP Commission Meeting

The fourth CPTPP Commission meeting was held virtually and hosted by Japan on 2 June 2021. The purpose of the fourth Commission meeting was to consider the United Kingdom’s formal request to accede to the CPTPP. The Commission agreed to commence accession negotiations with the UK and establish an accession working group

Fifth CPTPP Commission Meeting

The fifth CPTPP Commission meeting was held virtually and hosted by Japan on 1 September 2021. The fifth CPTPP Commission meeting was an opportunity for the Commission to reflect on implementation of the Agreement and its contribution to the global economy since its entry into force on 31 December 2018. The Commission issued a joint statement highlighting in particular the welcome news of Peru’s ratification of the CPTPP, which will see the Agreement enter into force for Peru on 19 September 2021; the importance of the CPTPP in supporting recovery from COVID-19… the Commission also adopted the decision to establish a committee on electronic commerce

Seventh CPTPP Commission Meeting

The seventh session of the CPTPP Council was held in Auckland, New Zealand on July 16, 2023.
