South Korea will accelerate work on signing free trade agreement with Uzbekistan, President Moon Jae-in said in his 2021 New Year’s address.

“We will expand exchanges and cooperation with our New Southern and New Northern Policy partner nations by expediting FTA negotiations with the Philippines, Cambodia and Uzbekistan,” he said.

In September it was announced South Korea is completing procedures on preparation of the agreement and the official talks will begin then.
