After U.S. President Donald Trump said he would introduce 25-percent tariffs on autos, lumber, and forest products, Vietnamese enterprises in these sectors are concerned over the impact of the policy on their operations and export activities.

In the long-term, enterprises hope that the Government will manage exchange rates flexibly to benefit exports and prioritise reasonable loan quotas for agricultural exports as domestic raw material prices increase.

While Việt Nam is not the largest exporter of steel and aluminium to the US, domestic businesses will still face significant challenges due to this policy.
