Vietnam - Cuba Trade Agreement

The Vietnam-Cuba Trade Agreement, signed in Hanoi on November 9, 2018, replaces the Agreement between the two Governments on trade exchange and other forms of economic cooperation signed in 1996.

With 14 chapters, the Vietnam-Cuba Trade Agreement includes regulations on trade in goods, rules of origin, customs management and trade facilitation, trade defense, and technical standards and regulations. Conformity assessment procedures and procedures, food hygiene and safety measures and phytosanitary measures, economic and commercial cooperation ... Accordingly, the two sides commit to eliminate or reduce taxes for 100% of products are imported from each other's market within 5 years.

To implement the Agreement, on April 3, 2020, the Government issued Decree 39/2020 / ND-CP promulgating Vietnam's Special Preferred Import Tariff for the implementation of the Vietnam Trade Agreement - Cuba in the period 2020-2023. On April 8, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 08/2020 / TT-BCT providing rules of origin in the Vietnam-Cuba Trade Agreement.
