What is the Committee on International Trade Policies?

The Committee on International Trade Policies (the Committee) is an advisory body of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), works for the sustainable development, legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese business community in issues relating to international trade policies.
Committee members are negotiators from competent authorities, representatives of important industries and other experienced specialists in international trade policies.
Functions
1. Creating a forum for business community and competent authorities to exchange information, discuss, harmonize interests of industries and make proposals to the Government of appropriate approaches in negotiating and implementing international trade commitments.
2. Raising awareness, providing information on international trade policies and improving policy advocacy skills for associations and business community.
Through the Committee, business community can:
- Pass demands, opinions relating to its rights and interests to authorities in charge of making policy, negotiating and implementing international trade commitments.
- Be informed of international trade negotiation trends in order to make appropriate business strategies.
Through the Committee, competent authorities can:
- Be provided with an additional pragmatic input so that negotiations could reflex the best interests of business community and the whole economy.
- Have an opportunity to get domestic consensus in the process of negotiating international trade commitments and thus facilitate the implementation.
