Britain will shortly begin negotiations to join one of the largest free trade areas in the world; worth £9 trillion in GDP in 2019, spanning Asia Pacific and the Americas, and including some of the world’s biggest current and future economies.
“UK Accession to CPTPP: The UK’s Strategic Approach” sets out: strategic case for joining the trade agreement, outline approach to the negotiations, government response to the consultation run on CPTPP and initial economic scoping assessment for CPTPP membership.
