Vietnam receives applications for exemption from anti-dumping duty on Thai sugar

The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that it has started to receive applications for exemption from anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs on several sugar products imported from Thailand.

As such, enterprises can send their applications to the online public service portal at the address: https://dichvucong.moit.gov.vn or to the Trade Remedies Authority before 5:00 pm on July 25, 2021.

Previously, in June, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No.1578/QD-BCT on applying anti-dumping and anti-subsidy tariffs on several sugar products originating from Thailand with an anti-dumping tax rate of 42.99% and an anti-subsidy tax rate of 4.65%.

The decision took effect from June 16 and is set to last for five years.

According to Article 10 of Circular 37/2019/TT-BCT,issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on November 29, 2019, the ministry considers exemptions from application of temporary and official trade remedies for some imported goods subject to trade remedy measures in several cases.

The Trade Remedies Authority recommended that enterprises who can meet conditions for exemptions from trade remedies can submit their applications including thedocuments regulated in Article 14 and Appendix III of Circular 37/2019/TT-BCT.
