Recently, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has proposed a Draft Chapter on Labor and Dispute Settlement relating to labor for TPP basing on the U.S. – Peru Free Trade Agreement (FTA) (two members of TPP). The draft may have certain role in TPP negotiations and so, Vietnam should carefully consider every possible proposal of other TPP Parties, especially the U.S. This recommendation focused on analyzing the Draft Labor Chapter, comparing with the latest draft(2/2012) of Vietnam Labor Law ,which is expected to be adopted in May 2012, examining potential impacts on Vietnam, and proposing recommendations for Vietnam on negotiating Labor Chapter in the TPP.
