The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is the new product marking which demonstrates that certain goods are compliant with UK regulations and is used when these goods are placed on the market in Great Britain (GB). It covers all goods which previously required the CE marking and aerosol containers (which previously required the reverse epsilon marking).

For most goods businesses will still be able to place CE marked goods on the market until 31 December 2022. After 31 December 2022, only products with UKCA marking will be accepted in Great Britain. The fact that UKCA has become a mandatory requirement for most industrial products in the UK market poses a challenge for businesses to quickly register and meet UKCA standard as an alternative to the existing CE.

In order to support businesses to timely transition from CE marking to UKCA marking before January 1, 2023, BEIS has released a short guide to UKCA. The document provides businesses with a basic understanding of the UKCA marking and the procedure to apply for a UKCA marking for products.
