Peru to attend TPP Inter-sectoral Meeting in Mexico
08/11/2012 65Lima, Nov. 05 (ANDINA). Peru’s Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) will attend the Inter-sectoral Meeting of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), to be held in Los Cabos (Mexico) on November 12-17 this year.
This meeting seeks to continue the work started by the Horizontal Issues negotiating group in March 2010.
The TPP is a negotiation process that includes countries from three continents (America, Asia and Oceania). It seeks to become the basis and the means to establish the Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific (FTAPP), and therefore it is open to other countries that have formally expressed their interest in the process.
The nine participating countries have trade agreements with each other and it seeks to continue progressing in more advanced agreements, as in the Peruvian case.
Diana Sayuru Bayonne, official of Peru’s Trade Deputy Ministry, will attend that meeting in representation of the country.
