Kuwait remains Vietnam's biggest trade partner in Middle East
16/10/2024 160Kuwait remains the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in the Middle East with a two-way trade turnover hitting nearly $6 billion in 2023, according to the Vietnam Trade Office in Kuwait.
Kuwait is a potential market for Vietnamese products, particularly farm produce such as seafood and wood products.
However, products that are strengths of Vietnam still account for a small share in this market so there remains ample room to promote export to Kuwait, the office said.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said in order to boost exports to Kuwait, relevant agencies should increase trade promotion programs in countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in general and Kuwait in particular.
They should also support small- and medium-sized enterprises to study markets and promote trade exchanges and their brands abroad, with the aim of turning market in the GCC into one of important trade partners of Vietnam.
