Malaysia Targets Asian Steel with Temporary Tariffs
07/07/2025 146Malaysia has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties ranging from 3.86% to 57.90% on certain iron and steel imports from China, South Korea, and Vietnam, the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry announced Saturday.
The levies apply to imports of galvanised iron or steel coils and sheets, following a preliminary finding in an investigation launched on February 6. "The government finds that there is sufficient evidence that the importation of the subject goods... is being dumped and that the investigation should be continued," the ministry said.
The provisional duties will take effect from Monday, July 7, and may last up to 120 days, with a final determination expected by November 3.
