Vietnam’s pepper exports to Thailand surged more than 40% in the first seven months of 2025, making the country the nation’s 10th largest market for the spice, according to Vietnam Customs.

Exports to Thailand from January to July reached nearly US$30 million. Overall, Vietnam shipped 144,671 tons of pepper worth about US$990 million during the period. While total export volume fell slightly, revenue rose nearly 30% on-year, driven by higher global pepper prices.

The United States remained Vietnam’s largest buyer, followed by Germany and India. Black pepper continued to dominate, accounting for over two-thirds of total volume and revenue, while exports of ground and white pepper also recorded strong growth.

Domestically, pepper prices rose sharply at the end of August, reaching the highest levels since early the month, due to stable demand and temporary supply shortages. Analysts expect prices to remain high in the coming months as global demand strengthens ahead of the year-end holiday season.
