Viet Nam has proposed China to help ensure stable jet fuel supplies for the former's airlines amid ongoing disruptions in global energy markets linked to tensions in the Middle East.

In a recent letter to Mr. Song Zhiyong, head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Mr. Uong Viet Dung, director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV), requested that China  ensure stable jet fuel supplies for Viet Namese airlines

The appeal follows recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, on the occasion of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam's State visit to China from April 14-17. 
According to CAAV, instability in the Middle East has disrupted global and regional oil supply chains, leading to jet fuel shortages that are affecting airline operations, including those of Viet Nam’s carriers.

Citing long-standing cooperation between the two aviation authorities, CAAV called on CAAC to work with major Chinese suppliers such as Sinopec, PetroChina, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation to maintain reliable supplies under existing contracts.

Viet Nam’s aviation authority said it expects support from Chinese regulators and suppliers to help sustain stable flight operations between the two countries, meet growing travel demand, and further strengthen people-to-people exchanges.
