The Ministry of Industry and Trade has received a request to extend the anti-dumping measures against Chinese steel.
22/05/2026 255Domestic steel manufacturers have requested the continued application of anti-dumping measures against certain H-shaped steel imported from China.
On May 21st, the Trade Remedies Department ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) announced that it had received and confirmed the complete and valid dossier requesting a final review and investigation into the application of anti-dumping measures against certain H-shaped steel products originating from China.
According to the agency, on February 26, Posco Yamato Vina Steel Joint Stock Company, representing the domestic steel industry, submitted a request for a final review of the aforementioned case. By May 21, the investigating agency confirmed that the application was complete and valid in accordance with the law on trade defense.
Accordingly, within 30 days from the date of notification of receipt of a valid application, the investigating agency will assess the contents of the application and submit it to the Minister of Industry and Trade for consideration and decision on this review.
The anti-dumping investigation into H-shaped steel from China, coded AD03, was initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in October 2016 under Decision No. 3993/QD-BCT. In August 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3283/QD-BCT applying anti-dumping measures to certain H-shaped steel products imported from China.
In 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continued to issue Decision No. 1640/QD-BCT on the results of the final review, extending the application of the measure for another 5 years.
