Report of the Working Party on the Accession of Vietnam

The Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam applied for accession to the World Trade Organization in January 1995 (document WT/L/1). At its meeting on 31 January 1995, the General Council established a Working Party to examine the application of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to accede to the World Trade Organization under Article XII of the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the WTO. The terms of reference and the membership of the Working Party are reproduced in document WT/ACC/VNM/1/Rev.23. The Working Party met on 30-31 July and 3 December 1998; 22-23 July 1999; 30 November 2000; 10 April 2002; 12 May and 10 December 2003; 15 June and 15 December 2004 under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Seung Ho (Republic of Korea); and on 15 September 2005; 27 March, 19 July, 9 October and 26 October 2006 under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Eirik Glenne (Norway).
