On 18/04/2014, VCCI in coopearation with USAID organized a Workshop on ""Business Competitiveness and Free Trade Agreements: Expectations and Lessons Learned" in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam and European Free Trade Association (Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein) are negotiating Free Trade Agreement (FTA) including negotiation on sanitary and phytosanitary systems (SPS) which plays an important role in facilitating the exports of Vietnamese agricultural products and seafood in the EFTA.

Vietnam is currently one of twelve countries negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The negotiations are in the important stage with discussions on many groups which are controversial.

TPP negotiations which are in the end stage are slated to be basically concluded by the end of 2013. Meanwhile, Vietnamese enterprises have not thoroughly understood about, have not kept up with and prepared readily for this agreement.

Recently, in a context of increasing illegal competition from imports, a number of Vietnamese enterprises/associations have started using trade remedies measures (antidumping, anti-subsidy, safeguard measures) to protect their legal interests.
