The International Trade Administration Commission has opened up an investigation into the dumping of poultry products into South Africa.  “The investigation came about as a result of an application by the South African Poultry Association that had alleged various dumping from the UK, Netherlands and Germany,” Siyabulela Tsengiwe, chief commissioner of the International Trade Administration Commission (Itac), told CNBC Africa.

SINGAPORE — The process to finalise and implement the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Singapore and the European Union (EU) will not be affected by the European Parliament elections in May that saw a larger number seats won by Eurosceptic parties. As the majority of the European Parliament is still formed by the central conservatives and liberals, the administration is very unlikely to block the FTA, said European Union Ambassador to Singapore Dr Michael Pulch today (July 9).

BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said it welcomes the ruling of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which found that U.S. failure to avoid double remedies in its punitive measures against certain Chinese products is against WTO rules. The MOC's spokesman, Yao Jian, said the ruling was consistent with China's standpoint, according to a statement released Wednesday on the ministry's website. The WTO's Appellate Body's report, issued on Monday, rejected the appeal requested by the United States and upheld most of China's claims.

HA NOI ( VNS)  — The export value of seafood in the first half of this year grew strongly due to a sharp increase in shrimps and prawns. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said the value of seafood exports rose 24.2 per cent to US$3.45 billion, of which 48 to 49 per cent came from shrimps and prawns. The Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said shrimps and prawns were strongly sought by the United States, the European Union, Japan, South Korea and China.

GENEVA, July 7 (Xinhua) -- The World Trade Organization (WTO) ruled on Monday in its Appellate Body Report that United States had acted inconsistently with WTO rules with regard to its countervailing and anti-dumping measures on certain products from China.

Diplomats from the United States, China and the European Union began talks Tuesday with 11 other countries toward a deal that would cut tariffs on almost $1 trillion of environmental goods. The proposed agreement at the World Trade Organization would cover 86 percent of trade in goods such as solar panels and wind turbines for producing energy, filters for wastewater treatment and catalytic converters for air pollution control. U.S. exports of environmental goods reached $106 billion last year, and have grown 8 percent a year since 2009.

NEW DELHI: The government has started an investigation on whether to extend anti-dumping duties imposed on front axle beam and steering knuckles imported from China, following a petition by auto component major Bharat Forge.  "Having satisfied itself on the basis of the positive prima facie evidence submitted by the domestic industry substantiating the need for a review, the authority (DGAD) hereby initiates a sunset review," a notification of the Commerce and Industry Ministry said.

(Reuters) - China will lower anti-dumping duties on U.S. chicken products from Wednesday in the wake of last year's ruling against Beijing by the World Trade Organization in a four-year-old dispute, the commerce ministry said.

Japan and Australia are confident of securing a free trade zone for the Asia-Pacific. The Trans-Pacific Partnership was on the agenda for a meeting between Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Japanese leader Shinzo Abe in Canberra on Tuesday. The TPP would encompass 12 nations including Japan, Australia and the United States. Mr Abe told reporters after the meeting the TPP talks were in their final stages. Australia and Japan in particular were making "smooth progress" on the negotiations, he said.

JOHANNESBURG - Revised anti-dumping duties for chicken imported from the Netherlands, Germany and the UK may contribute to job creation in South Africa, the South African Poultry Association (SAPA) said on Monday. Anti-dumping duty, in the business world, refers to a tax or penalty that is imposed on lower-than-normal priced imports to increase their price in the country importing the product. It is a regulatory measure used to protect local industries from what is considered unfair competition.
