GENEVA (AP) — Any way you look at it, the United States and European Union will remain dominant players in world trade over the next two decades. The real question, says the World Trade Organization in a new report, is how much ground they cede to rising economies like China. The WTO's annual trade report says that under good economic conditions, China could increase its export share of manufactured goods to almost a quarter of global trade by 2035 while India's could more than double, to 5 percent.

SANTIAGO, July 15 (Xinhua) -- A group of four Latin American countries has agreed to create a commission to promote trade in the region. The Pacific Alliance, which groups Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, was formally established in 2012 in Lima. The European Union's (EU) Chief Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiator has described the first round of talks with the US as "very productive." According to the European Commission, the aim of the TTIP is "to liberalize, as much as possible, trade and investment between the two blocs." The Commission estimates that a comprehensive TTIP could boost the EU's gross domestic product (GDP) by around 0.5 percent a year. EU exports of goods and services to the US could also go up, by as much as 28 percent.
