Tra fish exporters expected to recover by year-end
07/07/2023 66Production costs forecast to fall on lower input and transport prices.
Profits for tra fish exporters are expected to improve over the closing months of the year due to lower production costs, according to SSI Research.
Production costs are forecast to decline as a result of falling prices for inputs and transport.
Exports of tra fish earned $885 million in the first half of the year, down 38 per cent year-on-year.
In its report on the prospects for Vietnam’s seafood sector, SSI Research said there is still no sign of recovery in demand in key export markets such as the US, Europe, and China as a result of prolonged inflation and the slow handling of inventory.
However, lower costs would improve the profits of enterprises, it said.
