US alarmed with Ukraine’s plans on raising WTO tariffs
04/12/2012 68US Trade Representative Ron Kirk has expressed concern about Ukraine’s plans to rethink a spate of agricultural and industrial tariffs within the WTO, something that he said “poses a systemic threat to the world trading system.”
He referred to Ukraine recently indicating intent to raise tariffs on more than 350 product lines above the maximum level it negotiated to join the WTO in 2008.
Kirk spoke after his talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko in Washington on November 30.
