Recommendations for Vietnam steel hanger businesses in the AD and CVD case

13/02/2012

On January 18, 2012, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation and countervailing duty against steel wire garment hangers imported from Vietnam. and anti-dumping investigations on this item imported from Taiwan. This decision was initiated on the basis of a lawsuit filed on December 29, 2011 by 3 US companies, M&B Metal Products Company (Leeds, AL), Innovative Fabrication / Indy Hanger (Indianapolis, IN) and American Shirt Company (Gardena, CA).

Steel hanger is not a strong export product of Vietnam. However, the special point in this case is that: this is not the first time Vietnamese steel coat was sued by the United States for trade defense. In 2010, this product has been sued against anti-dumping tax.

The following study will provide some of the main contents of the investigation and recommend action plans for the Vietnam Association of Steel Coatings and Exporters.
