The Vietnam - UK Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) was signed on December 29, 2020 and takes effect temporarily from 23:00 of December 31, 2020.

To take advantage of the preferences in the UKVFTA Agreement as soon as the Agreement comes into force, the Ministry of Planning and Investment issued Official Letter No. 809/BKHDT-PC dated February 9, 2021 guiding the provisional application of the UKVFTA Agreement. The Ministry of Planning and Investment requests the Departments of Planning and Investment, the Management Board of IZs, EPZs and EZs based on the provisions of the UKVFTA Agreement to implement and apply a temporary commitment on investment liberalization according to regulations. in Sections 4 and 6 of the Appendix attached to the UKVFTA Agreement.

Regarding commitments in the field of government procurement, comply with Official Letter No. 5079/BKHDT-QLĐT dated August 6, 2020 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the implementation of commitments on bidding under the EVFTA Agreement.
