The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching, adverse effects on the global economy. By March 2021, the pandemic still had extremely unpredictable developments, even though many countries had begun the process of vaccine dissemination. Concerns about the economic slowdown, job loss, etc. caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have led many countries to implement monetary easing policies and deploy fiscal support packages with an unprecedented scale. In addition to the impact of increasing global debt risks and uneven resilience across economies, these support measures also raise concerns about many countries' reduced interest in economic institutional reform.

The report “Promoting economic recovery and economic institutional reform after the COVID-19 pandemic: Recommendations for Vietnam” identified requirements and a roadmap for Vietnam to promote economic recovery and improve economic institutional reform after the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the report focuses on analyzing the requirements for promoting economic recovery and institutional reform after the COVID-19 pandemic that Vietnam needs to aim for.
