Up to 70 percent of Japanese businesses have announced that they want to expand operations in Vietnam, especially in manufacturing, trade and service, and retail sector, according to the Japanese External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

Japanese companies highly evaluate Vietnam’s business climate and tend to boost investment in the manufacturing industry, heard a press conference held by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Office in Ho Chi Minh City on March 4.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to strengthen the steering committee for Vietnam's industrialisation strategy within the framework of Vietnam-Japan cooperation.

According to the latest statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, until the end of April 2017, the total import and export turnover between Vietnam and Japan reached about $US 10,124 billion. The turnover of Vietnam approximately reached $US 5,062 billion, and Japan was $ US 100 thousand higher.
