SUIFENHE, Heilongjiang, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Experts attending a trade expo in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province said more efforts should be made to tap border trade potential between China and Rusia, as trade volume between the two countries is likely to exceed 100 billion U.S. dollars this year.

This is unfair and should be stopped,” a Commerce Department official told Business Line.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday ordered a ban on the import and sale of some Samsung Electronics mobile devices after finding they infringed on two Apple Inc.'s patents. The ITC found Samsung guilty of infringing on two patents: one that covers touch-screen technology and one dealing with headphone jacks.

The first Japan-U.S. talks held in parallel with the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade initiative ended Friday in Tokyo, setting the stage for further discussions on more specific issues. Since this was the inaugural round, the two sides basically stated their positions and tried to establish the issues to focus on from the next discussions, said Takeo Mori, ambassador for economic diplomacy and head of the Japanese delegation. “We haven’t come to a point where we’ve already found common ground or reached agreement on certain fields,” Mori told reporters.

HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam had kept its place on a list of countries permitted to export fresh honey to the EU, the European Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade(MoIT) has reported. It said that the EU had accepted the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development(MARD)’s plan to manage honey exports. The European Commission’s Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Developmentannounced the decision on July 31.

Japan and the United States launched bilateral trade negotiations Wednesday on autos and nontariff barriers in parallel with the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade talks that Japan joined last month. On the first day of the three-day talks in Tokyo, the two largest economies involved in the TPP negotiations discussed auto trade and insurance-sector issues among the nine nontariff measures on the table.
